Today we are doing our big food tour in Osaka and Kyoto! Yes, that’s right – two of Japan’s most famous cities in one day. It will be exhausting, but absolutely feasible.

We start at 9:30 am in the Hinode Cafe (https://goo.gl/maps/ZPT4i856SzSGvS3XA) – at this time they open, making them one of the cafes that open relatively early. We enjoy different breakfast sets – crispy salad, yummy toasts and fresh drip coffee – the perfect start to the day!

Now it’s off to Kyoto! We first take the subway to Yodoyabashi Station and get on the train, which takes us to Kyoto in about 1 hour. As a small tip, there is a day ticket for the train for 800 yen – do not forget passport, which is required when buying.

Once in Kyoto, we first walk along the river promenade in the city center and then through the picturesque Pontocho Alley (https://goo.gl/maps/S9a3iZLVFqea2jTe7), which is full of traditional buildings. I’ll give you some interesting information about Kyoto.

Now it’s time for the highlight of today: We eat sashimi in Kyoto for lunch! We picked one of the city’s most popular restaurants for this kind of raw fish delicacy: Hachidaime Gihey (https://goo.gl/maps/TwWU65bkjJLHdHDw7). There tests for us the different courts.

In the afternoon, visit the most popular attraction in Kyoto: Fushimi Inari Shrine (https://goo.gl/maps/hiRkdHaBvpDajUbC7). With its thousands of Tori arches, this is not only the largest Shinto shrine in Japan, but also the most impressive – it is located on a 233 meter high mountain. If you feel like it, you can hike all the way up to the top where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of Kyoto. We just made it before sunset.

We are now back to Kyoto by train to explore the famous Dotonburi area (https://goo.gl/maps/mY3vV6ZhzV5PCLZx9) – shopping, entertainment, night market – a must visit location. We try different Japanese street food snacks: Dumplings, Takoyaki, Sushi, BBQ skewers and Ice Cream Sandwich.

That was our Japan Trip, tomorrow we will fly on to Busan in South Korea!
