After Okayama, we headed to Kyoto where we spent a day and a half wondering around the various shrines and temples near the Gion area. I wanted to spend a day just exploring the "less-touristy" places so I ended up climbing a mountain behind Yasaka Shrine and Chi-On Temple for the day. Bumping into monkeys and eating street food made the day worthwhile!
